The GDT will issue a license in place of the lost or damaged one once it has confirmed the license is valid and the formalities are completed. If your license is only close to expiring, the process you want is Renew driving license.
What to do
- Report the loss or damage within 10 days to the General Traffic Department and ask for a replacement.
- For a lost license, get a record from the police station and attach a copy.
- Submit your documents and complete the payment the GDT requires.
- Hand in the old card. A damaged license must be handed to the Traffic Department. If you find a lost license later, hand that in as well, with a notification from the police station.
